You pay peanuts, you get monkeys…

‘You get what you pay for’

is a cliché that our clients often use in their day-to-day life, but don’t always integrate the same philosophy into their businesses.

When you are looking for a cheap solution for your business, 4 out of 5 times, it will end up costing you more. It might do so by having to pay extra wages to your staff, or yourself, to do the majority of the work you previously thought your supplier offered, or simply by giving up halfway, mid-contract to another supplier and paying even more! This is all because you really didn’t realise what you were getting when you signed up.

    READ.  THE.  SMALL.  PRINT.

Sales pitches are usually very promising. All you want, we can do! What happens after you signed is the worry. The lovely sales person with the ‘smile in their voice’ disappears, the process if you paid in advance seems to take forever, and at times a battle starts!

When you are paying under $2000 for a website to be designed, built
and written, you will most likely receive what we call ‘an empty shell’ – a template that you generally need to build yourself with the “Drag and Drop” method. You spend hours creating your own copy write, and quite possibly you might not even own your website at the end of the whole process. To make it worse, it is quite possible that you have signed for your website to be hosted by
the same company who displayed the poor service to begin with!

Contracts are important – the written word, the responses, the adjustments are crucial! So, please make sure every single thing, every promise, every adjustment to the contract and every amendment is recorded in writing. Without ensuring this, you are all alone, and at times it will seem as though you are pouring your hard-earned money down the drain.

People have been saying for years that customer service is dead. This used to be in reference to retail, towards phone companies, or even when getting your car serviced. Now it seems like it happens more and more. The second you sign the contract, the minute the money has exchanged hands and the confirmation has been sent to the company, the customer service disappears.

    SO.  BE.  SMART.

Liaise with your colleagues, employees, mentors. Don’t be rushed into a decision. After all, you do get what you pay for.

And please, don’t commit before reading the small print. If you wish for our team to go through your contracts or assist you with finding reliable suppliers, please contact us today for a free chat.
